Welcome to the website GrooveSharpener.com. The Groove Sharpener was first made in 2003. The reason I made the tool was to get sharper grooves on my Titleist Vokey wedge. My wedge was about 3 years old had dull grooves and needed to be replaced or somehow resharpened. Lucky for me I work at a high technology machine shop that specializes in customized tools like the Groove Sharpener. I was able to make a tool that could sharpen my wedge and not get dull. The Groove Sharpener has been perfected over the last few years. It is now the top selling golf groove tool in the world. I hope you like my tools and remember if it does not say GrooveSharpener.com it is not the real groove sharpener. (Watch out for home-made copycats)

Put the bite back into your wedge.

All new wedge faces have a gritty sandpaper like feel. Titleist Spin Milled wedges has this type of face. Titleist does advertise it and you do get more backspin with this type of face.

There is no USGA rule against having a gritty club face.

The reason you stop getting backspin on balls is because of 2 things: grooves become dull and the face of clubs become to smooth.

Using the Rougher Tool you put the gritty face back on your irons. It is very easy to use. You actually use less force than using the Groove Sharpener.
